Generic "Lasix" is in a class of drugs called loop diuretics (water pills). It decreases the amount of fluid in the body by increasing the amount of salt and water lost in the urine. Like other loop diuretics, Generic "Lasix" acts by inhibiting the Na-K-2Cl symporter in the thick ascending loop of Henle. It also has inhibitory activity on carbonic anhydrase.

How should I take Generic "Lasix"?
Generic "Lasix" comes in tablets. It is usually taken orally once or twice a day.
